Fascinating, don't you think? ol Beau has no comments about what I presented to him, yet he was able to present himself as the victim and play the part well, don't you all think?
I guess he needs to go and wage verbal battle with men and women in the military and report back on his dealings with us to Der Frischinstein.
Don't let the door hit you on the ass on the way out.
Ok, well, I fail to see how we were threatening to stalk the AW people. He came here, and his very first comment made clear that he intended to learn us savages how these here innertubes work.
[Which, beau, is why I snarkily corrected your spelling. If you are going to be all superior intellect, you should probably not have spelling errors right off the bat.]
If he had pulled the stick out of his nether regions, maybe it could have all been ok but he also got very aggressive with a soon-to-deploy military person.
I don't care what your politics are, that's just nasty.
Hey folks. This kind of sucks-in my way younger days I had a drinking problem, then a gambling problem-now Im ignoring work and checking in on this site. Perhaps Deb could help me with my addictive personality syndrome?
I guess no Beau tonite. And I dont want to distract from the purpose of this site, but I would have liked to have seen his reconciling his we all need to get along, respect for other's points of view, with what he wrote after the 2004 election on AW: "The level of contempt I feel for Bxxx supporters is beyond what I can find words to describe. There shall be no compromise with their ilk; they are my sworn enemy, an object of scorn and fierce contempt." Sentiments echoed by Deb and others elsewhere.
" C'mon, CDR DTW, you aren't holding up your end of the troll bargain.
Dance!"
cuz when I read that I was shocked at how obnoxious it was.... but I remembered thinking that the author of this particular quote always greeted newcomers in this way.
Regarding the Packers... sigh. It's going to be a *very* tough year for us.
yeah sinner, that would be OK with me. I thought you had previously said having 2 threads here. It is going to be hard enough keeping the spoilers out of here tomorrow.
I brought it up because I've noticed that there's a tendency for some to treat newcomers, or rare-posters with hostility. This was just one example of that behavior.
I think it's a shame because that seems different from what I think Sinner is about. My email contains a draft message to him that I started on August 17th about similiar behavior. I guess I finally found it tiresome enough to comment again.
Sbh Sugary cereal was originally advertised/marketed at kids. As the baby boomers grew older, some continued to eat sugary cereals. The "health food" craze came along in the 1970s. Some adults frowned on sugary cereals.
I propose two threads for tomorrow, one to share our stories of 9/11 and any tributes and memoria, and another thread to be posted for the evening for any gerbil scampering hijinks.
I don't believe that anyone here, including me, have been ugly or hostile to you. In fact, the only two people who have encountered resistance right off the bat were Beau and Chell.
Beau for the obvious reasons (that have been enumerated over and over again) and Chell because of a perceived mutual admiration society she had going with Deb.
Chell was not hateful, and did finally do some research that lead her to understand what the actual problem with Dr. Debbie.
That's the difference, I believe.
In any case, I was remiss in not welcoming you to DHD.
Amatheia is right, I am all about civility and common cause/ground.
I am also all about open community and the freedom of its memebers to say what is on their minds.
I don't delete, moderate or referee. I will not in the future.
I do disagree that hostility is the first instinct among DHD regulars as a whole. There have been some of that recently, but then again we seem to be having more than our share of trolls lately.
Just as in the "real world", normally nice and friendly people have their moments. At least we don't ask for permission to retroactivly delete the stuff we wish we had not written...
I used to love "King Vitamin" and "Cap'n Crunch's Peanut Butter", but now the thought of it repulses me. I tried some of my daughters new favorite (Fruit Loops) and gaged...
If you're still lurking, I would like to point out that once again, you've been a rude, disrespectful guest here at Sinner's place.
You were invited earlier to share your thoughts regarding 9/11 with us tomorrow; somone even referred you to the front page for more info. We were trying to show a little of the civility which you claim to value so highly.
That post (which you either failed to read or failed to comprehend) stated very clearly that a thread would be put up tomorrow specifically for that purpose.
Instead, you just dropped your blather in the previous thread, beginning thusly:
I'm happy to post my thoughts on 911. Right now. Why wait till tomorrow. They'll be the same then.
You're no anarchist, you merely suffer from extremely poor impulse control. There is a small but significant difference between the two.
To refer to you as a purulent lackwit would be an insult to both cretins and pus.
But you should also know that I have some pretty strong feelings about the "Anyone But Bush" crowd, too.
Republicans and Democrats are not very different from one another when it comes to the core issue in our society.
Sure, they bicker about abortion, prayer, how much to spend on Iraq, ANWR, etc., but that's just to make the public think there's really some choice in the matter.
As Edward Abbey said, politics has become a game for millionaires and their cronies. To vote in a rigged scheme, in my opinion, amounts to tacit consent.
Most of my AW friends do not agree with me (or Ed) on this point.
When Bush was elected I was mad. I was very angry at people that were, in my opinion, giving him carte blanche to take U.S. imperialism to a new level.
But in the end, taking any position that kills dialog is counterproductive.
How can we change things and create a better world for our children and non-humans if we aren't even talking?
DHD'ers - I just saw what ABC showed with the Sandy Berger scene. They didn't wuss out, but they did cut out the part where he hung up on the CIA. Probably as good an edit they could have done.
Thanks Beau for your response to my earlier question. I dont know if it means your anger has subsided or not, but unfortunately the time for dialog may well be over-and its folks like you that have pushed folks like me to that point.
A funny thing happened after the 2000 election: friends, relatives, and acquantances started looking at me funny because, shit, I thought Bush won the election. They didnt want to talk about the facts-it was pretty clear to my more liberal friends that Bush had 'stolen' the whole thing and I was just being stupid-a dupe-typical Republican.
After 9/11 and the start of the Iraq war, I was again on the opposite side with folks I had known for years. Again, no debate, just the usual mudslinging and name calling. I was wrong, they were right. I tried to see their point of view, read their recommended books, analyzed things, and came to my own conclusions contrary to theirs.
And then the election of 2004 and the aftermath from the Left, of which your AW post was typical. I dont have any left-leaning friends anymore, yup Ive been turned out because I think the war on terror is a real war, because I dont think Iraq was about oil, and because I voted for Bush in 2004.
The Left drew the line for me: I'm nothing but an idiot toeing the Party line. To folks like Deb, I'm clearly the part of the problem.
Ive never let politics interfere in my personal relationships, never really gave it much thought until the last few years. But the hatred, paranoia, and hypocrisy that I have seen from the Left since 2000 is way beyond anything I have ever seen from the Right-and Deb is typical of that breed. I no longer care about common ground with folks like her.

And, hey! How do you like my Blue Gerbil?
Courtesy of the extremely talented Fatwa.
Yay, Fatwa!
Cool blue gerbil.
I'm kinda surprised he didn't put a red wig on it!
rabbit -
That would just be wrong.
Hey folks. This kind of sucks-in my way younger days I had a drinking problem, then a gambling problem-now Im ignoring work and checking in on this site. Perhaps Deb could help me with my addictive personality syndrome?
I am setting up the posts for tomorrow and I thought that I would start a thread for "normal" DHD stuff over at my personal blog.
Is that a good idea? Should we just shut teh silly down for the day?
Sven, we had the steps posted early on, but gave up 'cause we were all addicted to teh crazee.
Beau? Still here? Had a few things to run by you if you had time re: your previous post.
I vote no silly here.
But Rabbit, a personal consultation from Deb would be so much more beneficial-I could even add to her tip jar.
Well...
Sinner -
I vote a no silly day tomorrow.
Frankly, I don't believe I'll have any silly anyway it's kind of a moot point for me.
BrendaK....
Was it Beau who said,

rabbit,
no silly here, right. Never in doubt.
I was suggesting that a "teh silly" thread be set up at my personal blog

Oh, he's lurking, count on it.
Amatheia -
It was indeed I, and I apologized as soon as I realized that he was not a confederate of Beau's.
And, might I point out, I tendered an actual sincere apology that acknowledged my actual boorish behavior.
rabbit -
He's laid out his theory on the WOT M-I-C conspiracy on the previous thread.
yeah sinner, that would be OK with me.
I thought you had previously said having 2 threads here.
It is going to be hard enough keeping the spoilers out of here tomorrow.
BK,
I saw it. Spew and run tactics.
Amatheia -
I should be clear that I would not have apologized, however, had CDR DTW been an actual troll.
If you're going to troll, you better be able to take the hostility.
I see hose is still persisting with ad hominem attacks, which is proof that he doesn't wish to have constructive discussion, only an argument.
The Power of the DHD.
It cannot be resisted.
sven, I'm here, but I will only respond on this site to things posted on this site.
If you wish to discuss things I've posted on the AW, please sign up and ask your question there.

Actually, Beau, you have not responded to questions here. You can ignore Hosedragger, but you have ignored very polite and straightforward questions.

sinner, I'll answer any question that doesn't relate to our previous confrontation.
I see no purpose in discussing that any further.
Frankly, with the exception of yoda, it's been made clear, especially by hosedragger, that I should move on. Perhaps that's best.

Fair enough, but on this site you did post this:
If anything, people from all sides of the political spectrum need to be finding some common ground.
Which seems to be at odds with your feelings from two years ago. I worked on Bush's campaign-so is there common ground between us?
Amatheia is right, I am all about civility and common cause/ground.

Tastes change...
There will be 2 threads here and one thread at my personal blog.
The two threads here will be for 9/11 stuff ONLY. One for the stories (top post) and one for comments on the stories.
The post on my personal blog (there will be an announcement and link) will be for comic relief and teh silly.
CONNECT FOUR!
I Win!

Joe,
[dumps checkers out]
teh heh!
I listened to the Packers on my new Sirius radio (one of the reasons I bought it). It was a sad day.

Fatwa, you earned a Scooby Snack!
[tossed snack]
That's a good Minister!
FATWA ARBUCKLE!!
(to the tune of Denny Crane!)
Fatwa -
Thank you from the Blue Gerbil!
Fatwa Fatwa Fatwa!
chperry,
I feel your pain. I paid DirecTV $179 to be able to watch the Packers. I said I was not going to do it again after last year, but Brett sucked me in.
I wish I know how to quit you!
more ad hominem attacks...well folks, that's it.
You people enjoy yourselves.
Fatwa:
Go Rooby Roo!
He'll be baaack.
It is quite impossible to resist the Lure of DHD.
As we all know...
...more ad hominem attacks...
I don't think those words mean what you think they mean, Beau.
sbh,
As Nedra would say:
This is not a mean fighting blogspot.
rabbit:
Ruh-roh! Where's Nedra? Oh Raggy! Find Nedra and Roo Kitty!
rabbit -
Snarky, sometimes.
Beau,
I was with you until you said "U.S. imperialism"
I am not a Bush voter. I am a supporter, but I can't vote for him.
I even agree that there isn't a lick of difference in the "official positions" of the two parties.
I support the war. I would support more war. In fact I would support doing was the terrorists claim we are already doing, waging war on Islam.
I have read the Qur'an, I have studied Islam, I know that the terrorists are the true descendants of "The Prophet" (Crap be upon him).
I am scared. Your side often accuses us of using fear as a political tool. You may be right, but I think it insane to not be frightened of Islam.
Dear gerbils -
I feel a little better now; lost it there for a minute.
Thanks for the Scooby Snack, Sinner.
(Woo hoo...a raise!)
Reargh! It's Gerbil Time!
Don't like that one? How's this one?
sbh -
All praise goes to Fatwa, who very kindly gave me a lovely dye job.
No? Well, try this one on for size.
Fine then, I'll just be Rizzo.
I am going to make a new 9/10 thread. This will be the last thread before the 9/11 stuff.
I am also going to post the 9/11 stuff tonight.
I decided that all y'alls shouldn't have to wait for my to get my butt to work tomorrow to start.
Dude:
Did you find a hamtaro site or what?
Any more entertainment for me in your bag of tricks?
Sheesh, SBH...doesn't a middlin' snarky bon mot count for anything around here?
/sarcasm
pet-mo -
Where's the sleepy one rubbing it's big eyes?
Sinner -
Are you doing the story posting? I thought we were going to do that on the thread.
Should we be sending the story to you directly?
You mean this one?
Or this one?
deb's new post
Tomorrow's the big day - the five year anniversary of the day all those
little eichmanns bit the dust!
Shouldn't we be chitting and chatting about that here on the abbeyweb?
Dude - better, an animated Hamtaro site.
pet-mo -
That one.
hahahahhaha. I meant the first one.
rick -
She posted that at the Abbeyweb?!
Words fail me.
Okay Brenda, just for you and Sbh.
yes no words come to just dud
DHD'ers - I just saw what ABC showed with the Sandy Berger scene. They didn't wuss out, but they did cut out the part where he hung up on the CIA. Probably as good an edit they could have done.
Do your own posting!
seeeech!
Pet (and anyone else interested) -
Red State has posted the deleted scenes.

Okay, I'm going after all the non-pikachu pokemons!
Dude - That's cool, just as long as Pikachu gets to dance.
This guy's going to be one of my sockmuppets.
Dude:
Don't forget to let the power of youth explode.
Dude:
And keep your promises when you make the nice guy pose!
Dude - you've been busy.
Dude:
I'll just keep this little guy for awhile.
I prefer this one, though.
What's the name of the little kid?
Dude:
That's Konohamaru, the 3rd Hokage's grandson.
Oh right, this little guy.
Hey, I thought everyone moved to the new thread, or I would have posted what I did here instead of there.
BTW...9 MINUTES TILL THE NEW SIMPSONS!!!!!!!
Svenlanka,
Beautifully said. Thank you so much.
You too, Yoda.
And you, Sinner.
I'll be civil to Beau, but the more he writes here, the less respect I have for him.
