recognize a pattern of behavior, aggravating circumstances in multiple locations and failure to abide by a Restraining Order in Colorado. Of particular note will be the history and admission of (spanning several years) threatening stalking and your threat to “slice …up” a person.

Without help and medicine on a continuing basis, it never gets better...only increasingly worse over time. The psychosis is permanent. Hose - I hear what you're saying about Deb maybe being a user, but to me, I don't see it. She makes bad decisions, and exercises bad judgment because of a she's disconnected from the image of how another person might see those actions.

Joe had some good points the other night about the studies on teenagers' brains, how they weren't fully developed in the center of the brain where empathy rsides. Lack of empathy, really, is what cause a lot of a-hole behavior. The less developed your empathy, the bigger an a-hole you are.

"With chronic use, tolerance for methamphetamine can develop. In an effort to intensify the desired effects, users may take higher doses of the drug, take it more frequently, or change their method of drug intake. In some cases, abusers forego food and sleep while indulging in a form of binging known as a "run," injecting as much as a gram of the drug every 2 to 3 hours over several days until the user runs out of the drug or is too disorganized to continue. Chronic abuse can lead to psychotic behavior, characterized by intense paranoia, visual and auditory hallucinations, and out-of-control rages that can be coupled with extremely violent behavior.

Long-term effects can include:
Dependence and addiction psychosis
paranoia
hallucinations
mood disturbances
repetitive motor activity
Stroke
Weight loss "

Hose - she's generically near those meth user symptoms, but she's not there.

What she needs isn't "talking therapy", but a lot of hours of community service with hands on work with less fortunate people. Battered woman's shelter, homeless shelter, Special Olympics. Something to connect her to a broad range of people and in such close proximity that she can't just wish them away and not think about their humanity in connection with her own.

One of the major side effect of Lithium is hair loss, which can be pretty devastating for a woman.

Dude - "Hulk tired, Hulk sit down"

'night, again, dude.

At 10:50 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Dude - shit, forgot about that! That is the same Jones that hoaxed us again with cold fusion.

At 10:50 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

It's sad about her (kids). All my buds were saying fry her.

I don't think I ever saw a more obvious case of insanity. Was still furious someone could do that but she was nuts.

At 10:50 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Yay! Somebody reads my blog...even if he is family.

At 10:51 PM, Blogger Hosedragger said...

Sorry, but those people have done NOTHING in their lives to deserve associating with her. What she needs is a padded room to scream at the voices, and dry out. Then a nice job cleaning ditches on the side of the freeway wearing an orange jumpsuit and reflective vest, or maybe washing clothes.

At 10:51 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

g'night, joe. Sweet green dreams.

At 10:52 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Hawsp - yes, Yates was someone who should have been under close care of a psychiatrist, not a woman having to care for 5 young kids.

At 10:52 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Joe should stay to see Quick change Hawk.

At 10:53 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

I mean QUICK CHANGE HAWK!!

At 10:54 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

What do you think about the husband?

At 10:55 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Hose - it may be gratifying to know she is reduced to manual labor as punishment, but if she wants to get better, that would only fuel resentment and isolation. Working with a lot of people in a team environment where she would depend on people and people depend on her is the kind of constructive pressure that may actually develop her empathic ability.

At 10:55 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

I mean Yates Husband!

At 10:56 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

hawk -

I thought the husband should have been in prison as well.

At 10:57 PM, Blogger Hosedragger said...

I can't believe the Bobsie Twins are bailing out.

At 10:57 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Hawksp - cool avatar changing! See, just a little practice.

And Yates' husband, I think he bears some blame in the way their family life worked. It wasn't healthy, and she was isolated as a homemaker, and he really shoulda just stopped schtupping her. I mean, 5 kids in 5 years, wtf?

At 10:57 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

"Working with a lot of people in a team environment where she would depend on people and people depend on her is the kind of constructive pressure that may actually develop her empathic ability."

I have heard of mother even with a bunch of kids feeling very isolated. Not making excuses, but it's tough being a mom.

At 10:58 PM, Blogger Hosedragger said...

You make it sound like after falsly accusing me of murder and attempted murder as well as malpractice that I want to see her living outside a building that houses her with cement and bars ever again.

At 10:58 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

pet-mo -

Empathy is part of having a conscience, and you cannot grow a conscience. It is either there or not.

I think she could talk the empathy talk, but I also honestly do not think she could ever truly develop it.

At 10:58 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

mothers

Yeah, I'm still an idiot, but I can be taught pet!

At 10:59 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

Hose - nope, still here. Joe needs some zzzs though. Mom is bringing back goodies from Hawaii, so he needs to treat them...I mean...HER well!

At 10:59 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

I thought so too Bren.

At 11:00 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

Wait, I'm getting confused.

Pet - are you talking about Deb? Because I was.

Hawk - you are talking about Yates, right?

At 11:01 PM, Blogger Hosedragger said...

And Leo's getting laaaaaarger

At 11:04 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Yeah,

BrendaK,

I was talking Yates.

I only talk Deb if I must!

At 11:04 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

BrendaK - If she can have people that actually call her friends, then it means something is there to grow. she needs to be forced out of her comfort zone.

Hawksp - Yes, about Yates, she was extremely isolated raising those kids. Having kids all around you doesn't mean you have peers all around you. "Loneliness of command" kind of thing.

Hose - naw, I know you're just exaggerating. I can see how manual labor could lead to humility.

At 11:05 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Hey pet, You guys have property in Hawaii or was she just visiting?

At 11:05 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

BrendaK - talking about Yates with Hawksp, yep.

At 11:07 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

Uhm, ok:

Yates - knew what she was doing was wrong, chased one of her kids down. Should rot in prison.

Yates husband - knew there were serious problems and kept piling on. Insisted she homeschool and ordered her to keep having more/more/more kids. Should rot in prison.

Special Deb - no conscience, so no empathy development. But the orange suit she'll wear while picking up garbage on the roadside might shake her into at least keeping her mouth shut.

At 11:07 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

BrendaK - and talking about deb with you and Hose.

Must type faster! Must type faster!

Hawksp - Nope, no ownership in Hawaii, Mom was on vacation with friends. First time in a long time that she was on a vacation without Dad (both retired), so I think she really enjoyed it.

At 11:09 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

pet-mo -

Does Debbie have any friends, or just people she hasn't sufficiently alienated yet?

At 11:09 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

BrendaK and Hose - If Joe were here, he'd call me the softy Humanities major, so there ya go. I tend to give people more chances than I probably should...like Joe! Hah!

At 11:09 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Couldn't agree more BrendaK,

But I still wonder that a sane person wouldn't have a better plan. I mean, you think she was nuts but responsible bren?

At 11:11 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

BrendaK - I was about to say an OTOH.

Her friends may not be human to her at all, either, but simply an extension of her personality, so perhaps, there is no empathy in friendships with her, but instead projected narcissism.

Yes, I consider what she did nuts in the sense that "she's a total nutcase". I also think she met the legal definition of sane.

Hi all, I'm just stopping in for a min.

Sulla, on the last thread I only meant to point out that you have a well ordered mind and don't loose sight of your goals -- but you don't let it get in the way of teh funny, either. No slight intended ever! You're a sweetie!

Folks, I sincerely apologise for posting my reactions to the Abby site on the last thread without thinking carefully. I should have seen that there was someone on who would take offence to my reactions to the ecoterrorist schtick. I tried to apologise at the time by saying I was cranky but some folks are just waiting for a chance to be insulted and that was one ugly troll! Really, I have become used to not worrying when I post. Y'all are so nice. (Hm, can I use y'all? I'm English and I don't know how to spell it. I might not have the credentials to use it.)

At 11:23 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Yeah it was just a tough situation to even consider. I would not have wanted to be juror on that trial. But nite all.

At 11:24 PM, Blogger Petrarchan Motif said...

sbh - 'sokay. Edward Abbey does have the label of ecoterrorist attached to him, so any fans of his are going to be sensitive to that.

I am now KWI CHA Gerbil!

At 11:28 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

Paddy -

My extremely limited exposure to addicts has been horrible, scary and looked more like madness than anything I could imagine. Your son sounds like a functioning and non-destructive person, and that is not the kind person I'm talking about.

It was never my intention to sound like I thought all drug users should be shot on sight.

And, hey, I ate the brownies, right?

At 11:28 PM, Blogger Hawksp said...

Nite!

At 11:30 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

nite hawk and pet.

At 11:31 PM, Blogger filch said...

You folks are hilarious. Seriously misguided but very funny. And Bendak I never claimed to be a southerner. I can't stand the south. What I am is a chap derived from a seriously long line of white trash. We hail from the Arkansas and Oklahoma areas and I too am a military brat so we have a lot in common. Except of course that I get quoted on the front page of this here site and call you on your sneering about the proper way to spell slang words. And you seem to coo a lot over all the big boys who hang here.

At 11:33 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

sbh -

You can use y'all. Everyone should use y'all. But no one should claim to be a Southerner and not be able to spell it correctly.

I just don't much care for liars, and I absolutely believe that troll-bo came on this site specifically to antagonize and was not truthful about his regional history.

Why anyone would lie about that kind of thing is beyond me, but there you go.

At 11:35 PM, Blogger filch said...

Beau wasn't lieing in any way shape or form. Geesh anyone who thinks they can derive regional dialects from written text on the internet has a serious screw loose.

At 11:36 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

filch -

It is so interesting that you hate an entire part of the country. Did we all make fun of you in high school, or what?

And yes, you bet I coo at them. I like and admire them. I also like and admire the women who are regulars here.

You caught me, absolutely.

At 11:38 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

Is anyone at all here but me and filch?

At 11:38 PM, Blogger filch said...

And I already told you sweetums in my house we spelt it yall. We didn't need no damn '. Course we never wrote the damn word down except when morons wondered what we were saying.

Sorry but it's not all about you dear. I hate the south for the same reason I hate the east: too much damn humidity. But you just keep thinking it's about you.

At 11:38 PM, Blogger Paddy O'Furnijur said...

Brenda,
My oldest son takes a prescribed schedule II drug - a mixture of stereoisomers of amphetamine. He has ADHD and this drug allows him to stop and consider what is going on around him, rather than just reacting to it.

At 11:41 PM, Blogger BrendaK said...

filch -

This one is just for YOU!

That would be lying and spelled.

There you go, no charge, glad to be of assistance.

Run along, hon, you are out of your league here.

At 11:41 PM, Blogger Paddy O'Furnijur said...

I personally think it is all about Brenda.

And that's fine by me. (except when she says my brownies are "seedy")
