Please don't hire Dr. Deborah Frisch, she should not be in contact with youth.

Sleepy night all around. G'nite folks, Godspeed Hawksp.
Ditto, sbh. Vaya con Dios, sir.
I guess I'm the only one still up. It is 11:20 pm here in Oregon.Looks like teh crazy is pretty dilute this weekend. This is bad news for those of us who want to see the monkey dance and maybe even fling some poo, but for D. Frisch and her shattered life, it is a Good Thing. Assuming she has been advised by counsel to keep her fat yap shut concerning the RO imposed on her by the court, it means that she is (a) showing restraint and (b) bowing to the constraints placed on her by reality. These are adult virtues, the presence of which indicates that mental health is struggling to appear. You can still see teh crazy, though. Read her posts; Deb's unreasoning, childish rage against those she thinks have hurt her is still there, but she's not giving it free reign. In Genesis, God tells Cain that "sin is crouching at the door, but you must master it", which it looks like Deb is trying to do. Lately, there's been none of her "bring it on" hollering and chest-beating going on as there was a few weeks ago -- Jeff Goldstein did indeed "bring it on" and I'm guessing Deb found the taste was not much to her liking. And some of her earlier posts gave the impression that she was going to fly out to Colorado and tell the RO judge and opposing counsel what it's all about, but all that seems to be gone now. Where Deb was headed when this whole thing started only had one end: her pushing a shopping cart with a few belongings through downtown Eugene muttering to herself. That is the abyss and it appears as if Deb has shied away from it.Now if she could only refrain from doing stupid things such as sock-puppeting suicide notices, she'd be well on her way to recovery and maybe a normal life. She'll have to come to grips with the fact that she's probably unemployable in academia and few people, if any, are going to be interested in the book she's writing, but these are all hurdles that can be taken one at a time.
Well, I'm still up, too. It's about 12:15 here in Oregon now and everything is quiet but me. (sigh) Good synopsis of teh crazy slump today, oregonmuse. I am glad that she may be on the verge of falling into sanity, but I do kinda miss the madness show. I've learned a lot reading this blog. Deb has taken cognitive disonance to new heights! It's been instructive to read the analysis of such a varied group of people from within their attendant professions. I've always wondered about such people as Deb and how they manage to appear fairly normal in the real world -- most of the time. I mean, how does one really do that?!? I even met someone who was "Batfrisch Crazy" once. It was scary -- mostly because I couldn't begin to figure her out. Such bile, venom, unmitigated nastineness, and a total lack of any sense of linear logic is awesome, and I mean that in the "terrible and awesome" way.
Hey for those still up on the Left Coast (I hate that, really...) there's a fisking of a frisching over at Ace of Spades.Money Quote:Can someone frisch themselves out of the dating market? Apparently so.Check out this comment:This gal's opinion of herself rivals teh Frisch.Aah. Hear that? That's the sound of a pop culture reference settling into place. Sounds like... victory.
JohnHenry - Got your e-pistle yesterday (Sat.); tried to respond but it bounced.A brief summary: "cool; thanks".
Anyone checked la Frisch's site meter for the last couple of days? Her blog's only slightly more popular than the openacanatuna blog, which doesn't exist. Yet.Hey Deb (I KNOW you read the comments here, attention slut) - you've lapsed into banal utter & ignorant irrelevance. You should have taken my advice and Denton-ed yourself. It's not too late. There are enough people around who'll make it a hobby to make sure that you never work for more than minimum wage again that it might make more sense to take the big jump. Don't you see it yet - you'll NEVER EVER work in academia again. You'll NEVER EVER work in research again. On the list of desirable things for an employer to claim to have, you're on page 659, two pages after "syphilis chancre".Cheersopenacanatuna
